Biomass
Biomass is the collective term for all plant and animal matter, including wood, crops, and manure, that can be used as a renewable energy source. This organic matter can be used to create what is known as bioenergy for electricity generation, heating, and creating fuels and other products, which is done through processes like combustion, gasification, or fermentation. Using biomass as an alternative source of energy can help to cut greenhouse gas emissions and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
