Clean Air Act
The Clean Air Act is a comprehensive set of laws and regulations aimed at controlling air pollution and protecting air quality in the United States, first enacted in 1963 and amended several times since. The Act establishes National Ambient Air Quality Standards, or NAAQS, to address public health and welfare concerns, sets limits on emission levels from various sources, and provides a framework for the prevention and control of air pollution at the federal, state, and local levels. Since its inception, the Clean Air Act has been instrumental in reducing air pollution and protecting public health and the environment.
