Climate Adaptation
Climate adaptation refers to the process of adjusting to both the current and anticipated impacts of climate change, in order to reduce vulnerability, enhance resilience, and minimise the negative consequences for human and natural systems. Adaptation strategies can include infrastructure improvements, changes in land use and water management, ecosystem-based approaches, and the development of new technologies and practices, the latter including creating action plans for climate emergencies. Climate adaptation is an essential component of global climate policy, as it enables societies and ecosystems to better cope with the unavoidable impacts of climate change.
