Climate Vulnerability
Climate vulnerability refers to the susceptibility of human, built, and natural systems to be affected by the adverse effects of climate change, based on their exposure to climate hazards, sensitivity to these hazards, and capacity to adapt or cope with the impacts of them. Climate vulnerability is influenced by a wide range of factors, such as socioeconomic conditions, governance structures, and ecosystem characteristics, and can vary significantly within and between regions, communities, and sectors. Acknowledging and assessing climate vulnerability is a critical component of climate adaptation planning and policy.
