Ecosystem Adaptation

Ecosystem adaptation refers to the process by which ecosystems adjust and respond to natural changing environmental conditions, such as floods, droughts, cyclones, and habitat fragmentation. This can include adjustments in species populations, shifts in species distributions, and modifications in ecosystem processes. This natural capacity for adaptation can help protect ecosystems and the services they provide us with, but it may be insufficient to cope with rapid or extreme changes.
