Ecosystem-based Management

Ecosystem-based management (EBM) is an integrated approach to natural resource management that considers the entire ecosystem, including its structure, function, and the complex interactions among its various different components. This holistic perspective aims to balance biological, social, and economic objectives, bringing resilience and promoting the long-term sustainability, productivity, and diversity of ecosystems and the services they provide us with. EBM can also be applied across various sectors, including fisheries, forestry, and land-use planning.
