Rating

Research analysts conducting research into equities assign recommendations, or ratings, on their coverage universe that range from sell to hold to buy. In the context of bond markets, credit rating agencies assign credit ratings to countries, bond issuers and to bond instruments that reflect their view of the likelihood that issuers will repay debt on time. Credit ratings run from Triple A (the highest rating ) all the way down to default.
